Activities Executed:

  1. An Agri-machine has been designed to decorticate the Pongamia pods to replace manual decortication by rural farmers.

  2. Production of Bio-diesel by both Jatropha and Pongamia oil extracted from seeds to enhance the economic up-liftment of farmers.

  3. Providing safe drinking water both to urban & rural population through Rain water harvesting.

  4. Industrial wastes degradation through Saprophytic Microorganisms.

  5. Providing excellent traditional knowledge to both urban & rural population regarding Ethno-medicinal plant wealth from different biodiversity regions against various diseases & ailments.

Programmes Organized

  • Celebrations of World Water Day, World Environmental Day, International Day for Natural Disasters Management
  • Kisan Day - World Farmers Day, World Food Day
  • Training of personnel for management of rural water supply in Tumkur district.
  • Implementation of Roof-Top Rain water harvesting at Tumkur City.
  • ‘Mass Awareness programme’ on Drinking water resources at Rangasamudra, Pavagada taluk and Janakaloti, Madhugiri Taluk.
  • Organization of Two day Free Health camp at Janakaloti Village, Madhugiri taluk together with programmes regarding promotion of Pongamia planatation and Drinking water problems in rural areas.
  • Implementation of a project on documentation of Ethno-medicinal plants at Biligirirangana Hills, Chamaraja nagara district, Karnataka and preservation of Traditional Medicine knowledge.
  • Organization of a programm on ‘Better Management of Environmental pollution’ for school children and public.
